Flexform furnishes "The Jane" restaurant in Antwerp

Flexform has been entrusted with furnishing 'THE JANE' - the famous restaurant located in Antwerp (Belgium).

The restaurant, owned by the Michelin-starred chefs Sergio Herman and Nick Bril, designed by the Dutch design studio Piet Boon and is set within a recently restored old building once used as a chapel of a military hospital.

Today, after restoration, the result is a fascinating environment where fine dining meets a rock 'n roll aesthetic and a great deal of vintage elements are set amongst sophisticated modern furnishings.

The choice at Piet Boon was to keep the structure of the erstwhile chapel as closely as possible to the original especially with regard to the historical materials.

The former apse, where the team of chefs stand around a worktop like priests at the altar, has been turned into a kitchen that is sealed off behind a glass screen of steel-framed glazing much like a modern showcase, allowing guests to enjoy a full view of its workings.
