Eataly Smeraldo and the creations of Riva 1920

Some days ago the Eataly Smeraldo grand opening took place in Milan, with guests of honor such as Mayor Giuliano Pisapia and the President of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni.

This new center is the brainchild of Eataly's Oscar Farinetti and it has retained the original appearance of the historical theater Smeraldo, while its interior has been totally rebuilt and modified. It is a new venue designed to combine musical culture and food.

An area of 5500 square meters, with 15 restaurants, 2 lecture halls, many products on sale (mostly of Lombard origin) and various traditionally-made foods including: pasta, bread, cheese, chocolate and wine. The upmarket restaurant Alice is on the top floor overlooking the whole venue.

The decor of this gourmet restaurant was supplied by none other than Riva 1920, another prestigious name in Italian-made furnishings. The company from Brianza oversaw the design and manufacture of a solution for the reception area, cloakroom and bathroom furnishings, using numerous Briccola pieces, tables, storage units and a 12 meter Kauri table.
