Tolomeo lamp by Artemide

The Tolomeo desk lampwas designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987 for Artemide and has since been an icon of modern design awarded with the Compasso d'Oro prize.

With its pure, sleek lines it is a timeless piece of modern design. Inspired by traditional models, it revisits the spring-mechanism lamps of yesteryear, albeit with a hint of modern technology.

It consists of a heavy base, two straight polished aluminum arm sections, and a matte aluminum reflector head which can swivel 360°.

Steel tension cables attached to springs hidden inside the arms complete the constant-tension structure, while providing infinite positions in which the lamp can be held.

Available versions are desktop or free standing, wall or ceiling mounted, or overhead lamps, all in different sizes. Among the many table task lamps: Tolomeo Mini, the smallest model, Tolomeo Video for use near PC terminals, and Tolomeo Micro, available in a wide range of colors.
