The Masters chair designed by Philippe Stark and Eugeni Quitllet for Kartell has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2013. The Masters chair pays homage to three icons of contemporary design re-interpreted in a space-age key: the Serie7 by Arne Jacobsen, the Tulip Armchair by Eero Saarinen and the Eiffel Chair by Charles Eames.
It has a very particular silhouette: in fact it is a fusion of original and unmistakeable styles; the Masters chair is supported by slim legs and is very roomy and comfortable.
The back of the chair is its most fascinating feature, characterised by the full and empty spaces created by the curvaceous criss-crossing lines of three different backs descending to meet together at the seat. The Masters chair is practical, comfortable and stackable.
It is available in numerous colours and can also be used outdoors.
