Flexform furnishings in Tokyo private home
04/08/2020
Flexform has taken part in a furniture project in Tokyo on a private home that captures the distinctive features of traditional Japanese architecture. The distinctive elements of the design include the simplicity of the construction materials and the use of partition walls to separate the interior spaces
The project was commissioned to the studio Mizusawa Design, which has crafted a design that expresses the key concept of harmony with nature.
The plan of the building, in fact, is developed along horizontal lines to foster the dialog between the home and the trees that surround it. It is no coincidence that Japan is universally acknowledged as the land of minimalist design and this home's interior masterfully reflects the kind of uncluttered elegance that still emanates a warm, inviting vibe.
Among the furnishings from the Flexform collection chose to furnish the living area, we have the iconic Groundpiece sofa designed by Antonio Citterio and here and upholstered in ecru fabric. For an even more exclusive style, in place of traditional armrests, the Groundpiece has been fitted with two saddle-hide-clad consoles to provide surfaces for accessories and act as handy shelves for books and objects.
