Flou bed Nathalie hits 40
28/09/2018
It was 1978 when Vico Magistretti designed Nathalie, without question the forefather of all modern textile beds.
In fact Nathalie represented a real typological, aesthetic and functional innovation that made a profound mark in the history of furniture, changing the manner in which bedrooms were furnished.
Today, 40 years later, Nathalie is still among the most iconic beds of the Flou brand, and still retains all its enviable freshness.
To celebrate this milestone, Flou created for the occasion "NATHALIE Limited Edition", a new version of the iconic bed, made in only 299 pieces and which faithfully reproduces one of its 1978 versions.
In this version the headboard and cushion covers match the duvet cover.
And for this limited edition, the fabrics were selected from the 'Antique Gold' range (2018 Flou covers/bed linen collection).
Alongside this limited edition, a celebratory volume dedicated to Nathalie and Flou has also been put together, illustrating the forty-year journey of the first and most famous textile bed and of the company which has most successfully shaped the "culture of sleep". Words and images interpret the evolution of Flou and the textile bed from 1978 to today, with a focus on the partnership that led designer Vico Magistretti and industrial pioneer Rosario Messina to kick off a highly profitable collaboration, aimed at creating a novel and unprecedented product.
