Riva1920 furnishings at Casa Italia for the Winter Olympics in South Korea

The Yong Pyong Golf Club in Pyeongchang hosted Casa Italia at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.
Casa Italia functions as the hospitality house set up for the Italian Sporting Federation (C.O.N.I), and clearly represents a point of reference for the whole Italian Olympic delegation, which as well as athletes, includes operators, journalists and associates.
In Pyeongchang, Casa Italia is beautifully situated within a modern chalet enclosed by glass walls, creating an immersive experience in the mountain nature surrounding the Yong Pyong Golf Club.
Casa Italia presents itself as a result of a project that aims to enhance Italian excellence not only in sport, but also in art and design, and it does so by involving major brands representing "Made in Italy" excellence, and Riva1920 could not fail to heed the call.
The protagonists of the spaces are several furnishing pieces made of solid aromatic cedar wood.
These include sculptural stools (conceived by internationally renowned designers such as Alessandro Mendini, Mario Bellini, Mario Botta, Vito Nesta, Gianni Veneziano, Luciana Di Virgilio, and Michele de Lucchi) and iconic benches like Molletta, designed by Baldessari and Baldessari, and Curve Bench, designed by Brodie Neil.
The result is an evocative, sensory experience based on wood scents, able to satisfy the sense of smell but also pleasing to the sight and the touch, thanks to the sinuous and unusual shapes that characterize these unique furnishings.
