Madame small armchair Special Edition 6 April 2017
Today the Paula Cademartori boutique is customizing Philippe Starck's iconic Madame small armchair with Magic multicolor printing. The background motif for the special edition of the armchair is Paula Cademartori's new Pop-Up store, designed by renowned architect Ferruccio Laviani, that opened its doors in Milan's Piazza San Babila/Galleria del Toro.
ContamiNation: the Kartell concept
ContamiNation is the theme elected to present Kartell and its new product collection at the Design Week, showcasing various products born from the collaboration with international designers and closely bound to the concepts of uniqueness and identity.
The Brand believes that "Contamination" or, better still, "métissage," is the essence of design today, just as it is in art, literature and fashion.
Our everyday existence, thanks to globalization and the means of communication which have changed the speed at which we perceive images and information, is represented by a mix of different cultural influences and minds that overlap, contaminating and evolving symbiotically to produce unique moments of sublime creativity.
Through this on-going overlaying of technological research and ideas, the Kartell collection is "contaminated" thus gaining access to worlds that are increasingly diverse and less standardized, with projects that reflect a contemporary lifestyle, not only in Italy, but all over the world.
Bio Chair by Antonio Citterio
Another great news announced at the Salone del Mobile is the showcasing of the ultimate version of Bio Chair, a chair designed by Antonio Citterio and made thanks to extensive research on BIODURA™, an innovative material made from renewable raw materials that will not disrupt food production.
Kartell has pioneered this kind of material with its very own furnishings through this new chair. The result is an elegant, durable chair that is perfect for outdoor and indoor use, and that, ideally, at the end of its working life and in the right conditions, can re-enter the biological cycle or biodegrade.
