Kartell is the guest of Italian Embassy in Tokyo

On October 28, Kartell was invited to attend a special gala evening, put on to mark the opening of its new flagship store in Tokyo, at the Italian Embassy.

For the occasion, the Embassy rooms provide the backdrop for an exhibition entitled "Kartell. The art of living/Living with art", which has gathered together a number of images signed by some of the most prestigious names of photography and contemporary art (including Helmut Newton,, David La Chapelle, and Maurizio Cattelan), invited to reinterpret some iconic Kartell products.

The display concept represents the ideal sequel to the experience inspired by the book "kARTell – 150 items, 150 artworks", published by Skira Editore and curated by Franca Sozzani, Editor in chief of Vogue Italia.

In this way, not only is Kartell's presence in Japan consolidated by the opening of a new store and a retail development programme, but also thanks to the valorisation of a brand culture which will leave some iconic furnishings on permanent display inside the Embassy residence.
