The Pangea table by Riva1920 selected for ADI Design Index 2016

The table Pangea designed by Michele De Lucchi for Riva1920, has been selected to compete in the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 2018, following its publication in the ADI Design Index 2016 catalogue.

Made entirely of solid wood consisting of a highly unusual top surface of glued planks of Kauri wood from New Zealand, resulting in a "collage" of 19 pieces with irregular contours that all fit together like an outsize jigsaw puzzle, Pangea draws it inspiration, in terms of design and name, from the single continental mass which is thought to have included all the lands above sea-level in prehistoric times.

Available in oak and walnut and fitted with 25 tapered legs in Briccola wood, Pangea is undoubtedly a piece of furniture that is truly unique, as it stands halfway between artwork and decor.
