Tri stool by Riva1920 winner of A' Design Award and Competition

A' Design Award and Competition is the world's largest design competition awarding best designs, design concepts and products & services on art and architectural projects, set up by Italian studio OMC Design Studios in 2009.

There are 100 project categories and these include interior design, packaging, photography and furniture.

Hundreds of people flocked to Villa Olmo in Como for the gala night which saw winners of the competition come together to celebrate their achievement.

Several personalities from the field of design received the prized award, including Ascanio Zocchi who designed the winning "Tri" stool, a furnishing created for the Riva1920 brand.

Made of solid cedar wood, Tri deliberately recalls the shape of cheese wheels stacked upon one another for seasoning, paying a clear homage to the centuries-old tradition of Italian farming.

The wood is natural and is completely finished by hand without the addition of any treatment.
