Flexform's A.B.C.D armchair selected for ADI Design Index 2015
13/10/2015
A.B.C.D. is the contemporary reinterpretation of the now iconic armchair A.B.C. designed in 1996 by architect Antonio Citterio for Flexform and that has since reaped tremendous success
This item of the finest design has been selected by ADI, the Permanent Design Observatory, to be included in its prestigious catalog ADI Design Index 2015.
This selection is a truly important acknowledgment for Flexform as it represents a stepping stone to a possible bid for the prestigious ADI Compasso d'Oro Award 2016, Europe's oldest industrial design award and one of the greatest honors of industrial design in the world.
The deserved success of the armchair is certainly also because, compared to the original 1996 model, it has been greatly updated and upgraded thanks to important technical changes: these include doing away with the metal armrest and adding a sophisticated patented mechanism making it possible to recline the armchair with a simple gesture, thus providing it with greater comfort potential.
In the wake of this much-feted success, Flexform has also chosen to join the traveling exhibition, organized annually by the ADI, shortly to be in Milan and Rome, by entering its very own A.B.C.D. armchair displayed for the occasion along with many other selected items.
