Riva 1920's "Piano Antico" table stars at Food & Design 2015
11/02/2015
With its basement designed by architect Renzo Piano, Riva 1920's "Piano Antico" table will be the protagonist of a roadshow that will touch upon a number of sales outlets in northern Europe.
The table is made from precious Kauri wood, considered the oldest and rarest wood variety in the world because it is found only in a very small area in the northernmost tip of far-off New Zealand. It is sourced from trees that were felled during huge cataclysms at the end of the last Ice Age, and remained buried under a peat swamp for centuries, sealed in a chemically balanced environment that has preserved the timber in perfect condition. This makes the kauri wood a unique material for all kinds of valuable goods.
Clearly, Riva 1920's table is a great choice to star in the forthcoming Food and Design 2015 roadshow, offering its rare exclusivity to the general public.
The exhibition consists of two stages: the first to be held at Vienna's Galerie Design from 19 February to late March; the second will be hosted at the Beraterteam Möbelgalerie Chemnitz from April to June in Chemnitz (Germany).
For sure this is one unmissable exhibition that sets out to explore the link between design and food through a selection of authentic design items.
