Poltrona Frau at the Mese del Design event in Ferrara
27/11/2014
In the wake of the cooperation between Poltrona Frau and Material Design, the research laboratory associated with the University of Ferrara's Department of Architecture, the delightful city in Emilia is hosting in these days the Month of Design, an unmissable appointment with exhibitions, installations, lectures and symposiums all devoted to contemporary design.
Poltrona Frau is taking part in this grand occasion with an original setting designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance that will focus on the concept of leather, a highly valuable material at the heart of Poltrona Frau's manufacturing output, and on the concept of "iconic product".
The space will be decorated with five armchairs carefully selected from the collection that will be put on display for the public.
These will include Chester, 1919, Vanity Fair, Lyra, and Sanluca, all united by a modern and contemporary concept of living, as well as by their iconic status as figureheads of Poltrona Frau manufacture.
Also noteworthy is the set design that Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance has chosen to go with the pieces on display. The staging will be fluid and lithe, consisting of an 80m long cylindrical cord covered with orange leather: a truly original setup.
The kick-off is scheduled for November 27 at 4pm, and includes a conference moderated by Marco Romanelli, editor of the "Icone Poltrona Frau Icons" publication. Romanelli's speech focuses on an in-depth assessment of the role of so-called iconic products in contemporary living spaces. The exhibition will be open to the public until November 29, 2014.
